about

"Adobe Podcast Enhance" claims to be an AI-driven system for removing noise. I have used it for podcasts and yes, it can do wonders! But the less usable the voice is, the more improbable the wonder. In fact I suppose that it does not 'remove' noise at all, it seems to resynthesize the vocals based on probabilities, like an generative AI.

So, if you feed material to it that does not contain vocals at all, you may get vocals back - because the algorithms hallucinate. All this is speculation, but at around the release date of this album what you got back from most fed sounds is some strange voice saying very strange things that sound like meaningful saying, but are just vocal hallucinations.

On this album I used this tool to create either the base for or important additions to ambient tracks of different style and mood and I have to say: I'm really in love with this creepy, eerie, weird vocals. And yes, it may be just a 1-trick-pony, but I had a lot of fun – and I hope you will have it, too, while listening to the madness of mindless machines.
